Dr. Tamar Chansky, a licensed psychologist, is the Founder and Director of the Children's and Adult Center for OCD and Anxiety in Plymouth Meeting, PA. She is the author of numerous books on the treatment of anxiety including the popular Freeing Yourself from Anxiety Series: Freeing Your Child From Anxiety, Freeing Your Child from Negative Thinking, and Freeing Your Child From Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. Dr. Chansky is the creator of the educational website: worrywisekids.org. Her most recent book, Freeing Yourself from Anxiety: The 4-Step Plan to Overcome Worry and Create the Life You Want is for anyone suffering from an anxiety disorder or depression.

Dr. Chansky has been featured in hundreds of media including the New York Times, US News and World Report, The Chicago Tribune, Parents, Redbook, Child, Woman’s Day, and Working Mother. She has appeared on numerous radio and television programs such as NPR, TLC, and The Jane Pauley Show, and blogs regularly for The Huffington Post and Psychology Today.

Dr. Chansky is a member of the American Psychological Association, and the Pennsylvania Behavior Therapy Association. She earned her Ph.D. from Temple University and completed her internship training at The Institute of Pennsylvania Hospital. She received a Master's in Education from the University of Pennsylvania and a B.A. in psychology from Swarthmore College.

Dr. Chansky has devoted her professional life to helping children, teens, parents and adults overcome unnecessary worry through a new understanding of the nuts and bolts of how worry works. She frequently conducts trainings for professionals, and the general public about creative anxiety management techniques. When she is not being a doctor, she is also a wife and a mother who knows first hand the causes of stress and anxiety as well as the importance of knowing how to overcome them.

Dr. Chansky treats the full range of anxiety disorders in children, teens and adults using cognitive-behavior therapy. Dr. Chansky works with children as young as three years old, provides parent consultation and also sees adults with anxiety disorders.
